ATTENTION
Some of the pictures and stories shown on the following pages may be disturbing. In many of these cases, the stories are tragic. People have been seriously injured and in some instances, killed. Those involved frequently have suffered very significant, sometimes permanent injuries. The patients, their families, and their friends have all suffered
as a result of these events.

We often receive calls from patients or their families asking us about what happened during an incident. The following photos and stories are provided, similar to a newspaper account, for educational and informational purposes. It is our hope that through education, tragic incidents such as these can be prevented.

Every RVFD member that responded to these calls send their thoughts and condolences
to everyone touched by these incidents.

Forest fire in Bowman's Addition !

On Saturday March 7th Station 25 was alerted to assist Allegany County Co.11 (Bowmans Addition) with a forest fire on Wills Mountain. Wills Mountain Command (Chief Justin Blacker) Co.11 requested two engines from station 25. One engine was requested for a standby at Bowmans Addition station 11, and the other engine to respond to the mountain to assist on the fire. Engine 25-11 responded with 5 as the transfer engine to Co.11's station. Engine 25-12 responded with 5 also and was utilized to fill brush trucks and the entrance to the fire. Units operated for 7 hours before being placed in service by command.

2ns due to Wiley Ford !

On Tuesday March 3rd the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Department was alerted for a working trailer fire in Co.27's (Wiley Ford) first due. Engine 25-13 responded with 5 as the 2nd due engine on the call. Enroute 27 command (Deputy Chief Sean Malone) requested station 25's engine to come in from the opposite end of the fire and pull an 1 3/4 attack line to protect the 2 exposures on sides B and C. The crew from Engine 25-13 protected the exposures and then helped with overhaul.

Engine Air 25 to Short Gap !

On Thursday February 12th the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Department was alerted for a House Fire off Waxler Road in the Pinnacle Subdivision mutual aid to Co.34 (Short Gap). Engine 25-13 responded with a crew of 6 as the Air Unit for the call. Enroute Chief 34 (Everett Metheny) advised that it was actually a large brush fire not a structure and requested additional brush units and tankers. Engine 25-13 continued and Assistant Chief 25 (Steve Shipley) was assigned as Staging Officer for the call. Units operated for approximately 3 hours before returning.
